Linux For Pastors and Ministry

Some people wonder why I promote Linux. Well, there are three main things that I want to share to you why I promote Linux as “The Discipler’s Operating System”.

Linux Are Free

Linux are FREE. If you can see in “The Discipler’s Store”, there are Linux Operating System softwares, like Open Suse, Ubuntu, and Fedora, these are Linux Softwares. They are TOTALLY FREE operating systems. The only reason why we are selling them is because they are already in the disc form but you can download them for free in their respective sites.

Mandriva

Many pastors especially those that lives in third world countries cannot afford to buy Microsoft Windows. It’s just too expensive when the pastor’s salary / honorarium / love gift(whatever you call it), is just enough for the family. This situation is very true in Asian Countries. This is why, most pastors go for the “Windows Pirated Operating System”. But what if, we can offer them a FREE, or a CHEAP fully licensed / legal operating system?

How To Install E-Sword In Ubuntu

Are you using Linux as your Operating System in your computer? If you do, probably you are having some problem in installing a better Bible Software. Well, most of us who cannot afford to buy real good Bible Softwares, we go to E-sword . The problem is, so far, people find it hard to integrate Window based softwares to Linux, in our case Ubuntu.

New Church New Congregation In A New Culture

We have to consider in building a congregation that reproduce within the culture. This is a dynamic process where you won’t even know how will the Holy Spirit work within the culture.

There is no strict nor book by book instruction that we have to use in order to do this. As pastors, church planters, church leaders, we have to be innovative, open for possibilities and adjustments in case our current ministries is not working well. This should be [jtb2246] done by trusting the Holy Spirit and allow Him to work through the life of the Church.

God then will allow you as a church planter to see whom you should be working with. Having the right people in your core group in starting a church can really help you boost at the first few months.
