The Bible And Faith
The Bible gave so many illustrations about faith. The book of Hebrews 11 alone enumerated some of those people who exemplified faith.
We praise and worship God by faith, we pray by faith, we do things for God by faith, and we live by faith. As Christians, this should be a way of living, not just a need of living. Faith is a foundational element of each one of us.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1)

The Grief Grinch
We are approaching an exciting time of the year – Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s. Times of celebration. Times for friends and family. Times of joy. And for some, times of incredible sadness. The holidays will be hard because someone with whom previous special days were shared is gone. To paraphrase Tennyson’s In Memoriam, “Never Christmas wore to New Year’s but some heart did break.” If you have never experienced that, I would be tempted to offer congratulations, but I will not. They would probably simply be premature. The name of the Grinch who stole Christmas year-in and year-out is grief.
Perhaps there is an ache inside you this year that intensifies each time you think of turkeys or mistletoe or presents under the tree. Perhaps your wish is, not so much to have HAPPY holidays this year, but just to survive them. You hear the Psalmist say “For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. He is my rock, my salvation, my fortress, my deliverance…” Hmmm.

Full Devotion to God
In the days of the circuit riders a minister was out riding one afternoon
and came upon a man out working in his field.
“Fine day isn’t it?” the minister called out.
“Its fine for you”, the man replied, “All you have to do is ride around on
that horse thinking about God all day long, while I have to sweat here in
this field and then walk home afterward. I don’t think it is right you
should have things so easy while I have to work so hard.”
“On the contrary”, the minister answered, “thinking about God is one of the
most difficult things you can do. And to prove it, I’ll give you this horse
if you can think about God and nothing else for one minute.”
“You’re on,” said the man and immediately he sat down in silence. Thirty
seconds later he looked up at the minister, and said, “Does that include the
saddle?”

Here’s a humorous nice illustration about an atheist (a person that does not believe on God) walking in the woods when suddenly a bear came out of no where to attack him.
Sometimes, we reject the existence of God until such time we come to the point where we don’t have any choice to believe in Him. The worst thing is, we wait for that moment where we suffer tremendous pain and feel no hope at all. But there is God. All we have to do is to believe. The sad part is, we always want to attribute incidents to our life as accidents and not by workings of the divine being.
May this story gives you a good laugh and bless you.

I just received this wonderful illustration that goes around through email. In our time now that moral degradation have already taken over a powerful nation, I would really thank our God if I see this kind of person being illustrated here. I don’t know if this actually happened. But even if this is not true, it is still a good example to follow.
May the Lord our God bless those who are faithful.
(Please note that I do not know who was the original source of this great illustration. It was only forwarded to me through email. If you want to share this to your other friends, please use the “Share This” at the bottom of the post.)

Enlightenment Is Needed For Our Ministry
There were times in our lives that we are blinded with many concerns in the world. Sometimes it’s our need that blocks our eyes to see that we need to trust God. There were times that it is problem. Sometimes it’s our work.
This week’s collection is all about spiritual enlightenment. About looking and seeing the real need of following God. May these illustrations bless you!

Looking for an EZ Pass
On many of our nation’s toll roads, rather than stopping at a toll-booth to toss some change in a hopper, you can now purchase a transponder, sometimes called an EZ-Pass, and zip through in the left lanes without even slowing down to the acceptable speed limit. Instead of cash, tickets and paper receipts, it’s a microchip tag placed on your windshield containing pertinent data which eases your way. Your data is quickly read by a tollbooth electronic antenna as your car zooms on through. It automatically deducts your appropriate toll tax. This computerized collection system then sends a monthly statement to your home with tallies of times and places for your records. EZ-Pass is like a debit card for your car, only quicker. No more stopping at the tollgate, the narrow gate.
Jesus says, I am the narrow gate. There’s no quick way in. There’s no shortcut. If he wasn’t the Christ himself already, he’d be the perfect patron saint of tollgates.
Sometimes it seems that everybody wants the easy way to the front of the line, a quick way to glory and fast track to success. Including James and John, the brothers Zebedee, who want front-row seats numbering two and three. Put yourself in their shoes for a moment and see if you can identify with their self-centeredness. These guys gave up everything to follow Jesus. They followed Jesus when nobody knew him. They followed Jesus before his miracles. Now that he was popular, James and John were feeling the swell of fame. After all, they were Jesus’ best friends, his disciples! So we can understand why two of them came to Jesus with their request.
David Beckett, EZ-Pass
