True Love Waits: The How To Wait

The issue of true love waits is a valid issue concerning of love. The big question however is, “How to wait?”

With the current shift of culture and moral standards of the world, I believe true love waits is an “on-time” seminar for our younger generation.

I do not believe to what the government is doing as their solution for the rising cases of HIV. I believe that it is still the revival of moral values is still the best solution for this, hence, religious groups can do indeed play a great role in this issue.

The article below was taken from the True Love Waits Manual published by Church Strengthening Ministry years ago. Thus, I find this article direct to the point and helpful to our younger generation.

Treasures in Jars of Clay: Revealing the Secrets of Ministry

Treasures in Jars of Clay is one of the most popular passages in the book of Corinthians. In here, we will be seeing the kind of life that Paul and other apostles suffered during their time, yet, they did not turn their backs to the one called them heavenward. Today, the secrets of ministry will be revealed to us.

During the early times, people used to put their earthly treasures in jars of clay. They do this so that it will not attract robbers. Another reason is to show humility and simplicity of life though the fact is, there is wealth behind a simple life.

Today’s sermon is all about having that kind of life. Having a life full of treasures, yet it was hidden in jars of clay. The jars of clay here refers to our frail bodies that can easily be inflicted with pain. But what gives value is not what is outside, but what is inside. The treasure is the gospel of Christ, the thing that is more valuable than all other things that one can ever have.

The bigger question is why? Why are the apostles able to survive all these persecutions? Why are they able to continue ministering despite of the threats that they have been receiving? Today, we will be answering the secrets of ministering to God. This sermon is taken from 2 Corinthians 4:7-12

Ministries of the Servant of Christ

Ministries of the Servant of Christ tells us that each Christian was called to be servants of Christ. Not necessarily as pastors or elders, but serving God is definitely one of the things that we are to do. Therefore, it is also necessary that we are to do the ministries of servants of Christ. This sermon is taken from 2 Corinthians 4:1-6.

Today, we will be talking about the ministries of the servant of Christ. This list of ministries should be common to all Christians, and not just intended for Church leaders. This will remind us that we need to live out a life worthy of our calling.

But let us define first the word “ministry”. What is ministry? Ministry is the work of Christ.

Answering Doubts For Bro. Eddie

Do you doubt Bro. Eddie for electing him as president? Here are some answers to pave the way for those doubts.

Last December 2009, I prayed harder to finally decide who will be the candidate that we will be supporting for presidency this coming 2010 presidential elections. I only have two choices, Bro. Eddie Villanueva or Noynoy Aquino. I have had respect to both candidates since both of them have shown that they were not lovers of position and of money. And both simply wants to have a genuine change.

I wrote this article so to share what made me decide to go for Bro.Eddie and as I try to answer the issues being thrown against him, I hope this article will also be an eye opener to all Christians out there who doubts to support Bro. Eddie.

First, I will be presenting the most common issues being thrown against him and then my answer.

Teachings About Speaking In Tongues

I believe that one of the most abused gifts of the Holy Spirit in modern history of the christian church is speaking in tongues. Today, we will be studying a deeper level of what it means to use and practice the gift of tongues.

What Is Speaking In Tongues?

The gift of tongues or what we know now as the “speaking in tongues” is a spiritual gift where one is enabled by the Holy Spirit to speak in different known languages. The book of Acts gave us several scenarios where the Apostles used this gifting. There are many people from different places with different languages who listened to them (Acts 2, 10 and 11). The people where amazed because the Apostles were able to speak their native languages which they can fully understand. Some even thought that they were drunk.

In the book of Acts, the Apostles speak in different known languages of men. However, as we can see in the book of 1 Corinthians, we can see there that Christians can also speak in the language of the angels where no one can understand. 1 Corinthians 14:2 further added, “…he utter mysteries for himself.” which means, he is speaking language which is not understandable by men.

Why Does God Allow Suffering?

I got this really nice article while browsing the web. It talks about suffering and its relationship with God’s work. Are you suffering from something right now? Are you asking God why are you in that burden? This article perhaps can answer this question.
Why Does God Allow Suffering?

Author: Jack Wellman

Why does God allow suffering that He is fully capable to stopping? This question has not only challenged Christians, but anyone. To witness histories or current atrocities and worldwide suffering on such catastrophic levels, can be a major stumbling block even for believers in Christ, not to mention atheists or agnostics. If God is “supposed to be an all-powerful and all-loving God, then why doesn’t He stop it? Is He powerless, is He tired, is He even there…or maybe He’s asleep.”

Being a Christian is no insurance against cancer, disease, disability, and an unexpected death. In fact, Jesus clearly stated that we will suffer. I have searched many theologians, pastors, and books, and have finally discovered this: God’s ways are past our finding out and beyond human comprehension. No human can ever wrap their mind around What and Who God is. that is precisely what makes Him God. There is infinity in Him. We are simply finite. The answers to our questions may not be answered until Christ returns for us, or in the way we expect, or what seems best to us.

Sermon About Propriety In Worship And Lord’s Supper

Propriety In Worship Is Needed In Our Churches

I always believe that we need to be proper in facing God especially if we believe that he is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Honoring God is a valuable thing to learn in the way we speak, act, and even present ourselves before him.

In our world today, younger generations already took for granted what it means to be proper in God’s sight. Many of them just face Him without giving due respect.I hope this sermon will in somehow open the eyes of many especially our young generation.

Propriety In Worship
Text: 1 Corinthians 11

Introduction
Last week, we talked about things that happened to Israelites to be an example for us. And in the evening, we have talked about one of those things, which is idolatry.

Today, we will be talking about testing the Lord in terms of propriety in worship. Many Christians nowadays have already neglected propriety in worship. Today, you will see the young generation who comes in the church lacking some respect in the way they present themselves to God.

It is very important that at younger age, we have to learn how to respect God in every way, even in the way we dress and in the way we look.
