Bible verses about husbandsTo have a good husband is what every woman wants. She seeks for a man who could love her, trust her, take care of her, support her, and protect her. He doesn’t have to be the richest or the most famous guy in town.

The most important point to note here is that as a husband and the head of the family, it is his responsibility to make the family have a stronger foundation in our Lord Jesus Christ. Let Him be the center of love within the family.

How a husband should treat his wife

1 Peter 3:7 (NASB)
You husbands in the same way live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.

Colossians 3:19 (NIV)
Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

Ephesians 5:28 (NLT)
In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.

How a husband should honor marriage

Ephesians 5:21 (NIV)
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Hebrews 13:4 (NIV)
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

Leviticus 18:20 (NIV)
‘Do not have sexual relations with your neighbor’s wife and defile yourself with her.

Galatians 5:13 (NASB)
For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

How a husband is accountable to his family

Ephesians 5:23 (NASB)
For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.

1 Timothy 3:4 (ESV)
He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive.

Joshua 24:15 (NIV)
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.
