“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11
Before that Night in Bethlehem
When Heaven came down to earth,
Man’s sins had always haunted him
As he sought his purpose and worth.
So guilty was his conscience—
So darkly stained with sin;
Although he hoped he’d go to Heaven,
He had no assurance of ever entering in.
That night when Jesus was born in a manger—
A lowly cattle’s trough—
He came to bring Salvation
To those who continually felt “far off.”
“Far off” from the God Who created all things;
“Far off” from the Father’s great Love.
There seemed no way they could ever be free
Or know the Lord up above.
But all that changed when Jesus was born
In Bethlehem that Night of all Nights;
He came as the Savior, Who is Christ the Lord—
Who is also the Way, the Truth and the Light.
No longer does man have to live in guilt
With regret and shame and all;
He simply has to look to Jesus in faith
And upon His Name humbly call.
What joy there is to all who hear
And on the Savior believe;
The moment they look to Him in faith,
His Life and forgiveness they will receive.
For over 2,000 years now the Message has been
“Rejoice for the Savior has come!”
It’s Christmas now every day of the year
Because of the Victory the Lord Jesus has won.
