“But as it is written, ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for them that love Him’.”

I Corinthians 2:9

Why do we only look with eyes of clay

When God’s Glory is all around?

In the air we breathe and the water we drink

His creative ability so truly does abound.

So often we only look at the way things are

Instead of the ways they can be;

Is it any wonder that our dreams so often fade

Because of our failure to pray on bended knee?

The Lord of Hosts Who made all that is

Neither slumbers—nor does He sleep;

He knows when a single hair falls from our head

And those restless nights when we so readily weep.

Yet in it all He comes to us

And whispers of His Loving Care,

“Do not fear, dear Precious Child—

For I am always there.

“In your troubles I am present

To answer when you call;

Just cry out to Me and I will show you

Things you’ve never seen at all.

“In this world you will have trouble—

For such is the nature of life;

Yet, in the midst I’ll give you My Peace

That’s available in the midst of all strife.

“Just look through eyes of childlike faith

Instead of your ‘winds and your waves;’

Trust Me to be your constant Friend,

Who specializes in turning nights into day.

“Even now I’ve placed near you so many burning bushes

That the average eye will never see;

The key is knowing I’m preparing the Best for you

As you give all your hopes and dreams to Me.”
