Significance of the Risen Lord

Introduction
Today is Easter Sunday. Many people are in the Church for the tradition that they will be meeting the resurrected Jesus. Some Churches had their “Sunrise Service”. Some had their “Easter Program” with Easter Egg Hunting.
Easter celebrations originated during the Saxon times when they celebrated their pagan goddess named Eastre, the goddess of spring. When Christian missionaries arrived, trying to convert the Saxons to Christianity, they introduced them the celebration of the Lord’s resurrection on the same day that the pagans celebrates their pagan goddess of spring.
Easter is celebrated on the “First Sunday of the first full moon after the vernal Equinox”. The Ecclesiastical vernal equinox is March 21. Therefore, Easter is celebrated between March 22 and April 25.
Jesus Prays
Jesus to be glorified by the Father (v.1) “The time has come…” The time has now come that the Son has to be seized and crucified to the cross of Calvary to fulfill the Scriptures. The Father has granted him all authority over all people that he might give eternal life. It is then the time for the Son to be glorified.
Here we can actually see that the Son glorifies the Father, and the Father will have to give glory to the Son. As Jesus repeatedly emphasized here, that they are one.
Another thing that we can see here is the possession of that glory before the beginning of time. In verse 5, Jesus made mention that that glory was already his before the beginning of time.
