Above All is a Christian song that has been around for more than a decade now. It was written by Paul Baloche and Lenny LeBlanc. It was already sung by various Christian music artists and it still remained one of the most famous songs of worship to Christ until now.
However, the song was said to have a theological glitch in its lyrics. “Thought of me, above all…” is the part where some theologians are having some problems. They argue that Jesus thought of obeying the Father above all, and not us.
But whether Jesus thought of the Father or thought of us, I would say the song is still beautiful as it is though some churches already changed that part of lyrics when they sing it in their own churches.
Above All
Written by: Paul Baloche and Lenny LeBlanc
Above all powers, above all kings
Above all nature and all created things
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man
You were here before the world began
Above all kingdoms, above all thrones
Above all wonders the world has ever known
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth
There’s no way to measure what You’re worth
Crucified laid behind a stone
You lived to die rejected and alone
Like a rose trampled on the ground
You took the fall and thought of me above all
