Today is Good Friday, and I thought of giving this short Easter Sermon idea for your outline. Feel free to get its main idea and improve it. You can use this sermon this coming Sunday as your sermon.
Title: Where Doubt Can Lead Us
Text: John 20:24-29
There was an unnecessary remark – The first thing that we can see here is Thomas’ unnecessary remark. Verse 25 “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
There was an answer – There was an unnecessary statement, Thomas also got a direct answer from our Lord Jesus. Verse 27 “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
There was recognition – After Jesus’ response, Thomas made a very significant recognition of who Jesus is. Verse 28 “My Lord and my God!”, after realizing that his preconditions in believing Jesus’ resurrection are empty and too weak, all that he can say is “My Lord and my God!”.
There was a reminder – Perhaps the most important statement of Jesus in our passage is verse 29. Verse 29 “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Thomas made a precondition before he believed the resurrected Jesus. And Jesus made it clear that Thomas believed because he have seen Him.
Conclusion
Doubt can bring us to shame and humility where our Lord answers directly our doubts.

Hello Vince,
In this world, where there is so much deception, we always made some precondition before belief anything. But I also agree with your statement that “Doubt can bring us to shame and humility”. Thanks for the sermon.
