How To Resolve Marital Problems
Currently, me and my wife is attending a bi-monthly seminar on “Fireproofing Your Marriage”. So far, we are really enjoying discussing things about marital relationship within the couple’s group of our Church. Each partner in the group is also trying to work on our daily task, “The Love Dare”.
Today’s reading is a very useful tool in resolving marital conflicts. I believe each couple should try to take note of this post since this has been a great treasure in most successful marriages. And I do agree to what the author says about marital conflicts and problems. I quote this post from “The Love Dare” book by Kendrick.
The post is all about the boundaries in dealing with conflicts. Before I forget, I suggest that you print this post or at least bookmark this page so that you will be able to go back here if in case you will be needing this post in the future.

Short Biography of Chris Tomlin
Chris Tomlin is probably one of the most popular Christian singers today. And he is currently the talk of some of my friends right now in Facebook. This is why I tried researching about Chris Tomlin.
Here’s a short biography of Chris Tomlin (excerpt from www.about.com)
Chris Tomlin was born in east Texas on May 4, 1972 and he grew up listening to country music by bands like Alabama. His dad taught him to play guitar and he wrote his first song at 14. Saved as a youngster, he always knew that God had a specific plan for him, but he couldn’t see much beyond following the Lord. He finished high school and enrolled in college, graduating with a degree in Psychology. It was at that point that he started spending a lot of time with Passion founder, Louie Giglio. He took a big step of faith and became involved in the first Passion conference in 1997. The rest, as they say, is history.
Brought Nigh and Broken Down
“But now in Christ Jesus you, who sometimes were far off, are made nigh by the Blood of Christ—for He is our peace, Who has made both one and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us.”
Ephesians 2:13-14
How wonderful is His Ministry of Redemption and Reconciliation.
“Brought near and broken down.”
Those are the two main emphases in today’s Manna concerning Christ’s work in a believer’s life. Prior to His “quickening us from our trespasses and sins” (v.1), we were “walking dead men who thought and acted like the world, following the counsel of the prince of the power of the air and fulfilling the lusts/desires of the flesh as rebellious, carnal, children of wrath” (vv.1-3).
But, thankfully, the Lord didn’t leave us in that condition.
Instead, “God, Who is rich in Mercy and great Love, quickened (Grk. ‘suzoopoieo’—‘to reanimate, revitalize, make alive, give life to, etc.’) us together with Christ and also raised us up together with Him, making us to sit together with Him in Heavenly places” (vv.5-6). Hallelujah!!
Palompon Escapade
An Escapade In Palompon, Leyte
I first heard about the beauty of Palompon, Leyte last May of this year. But I really have no idea of what it looks like once we go to the source of its pride. Until one day, when my discipleship group was talking about a possible outing, one of my disciple suggested to try Palompon. And so it was.
It took us a couple of months to plan for team building outing for the Men’s group. However, along the way, our wives won’t allow us to go without them. And so it was.
There were also trials in the planning. Some of the original people who joined the planning backed out several weeks just before November 2. But there were still some who pursued the plan since this is their only time to escape from their laborous work. The next holiday will still be months away.
Palompon, A Jewel Of Leyte
Palompon is a 2nd class municipality located in the North West part of Leyte. Decades ago, it is one of the biggest towns of Leyte. In fact, Ormoc City was just formerly a part of the municapility of Palompon. However, time passed and Ormoc continued its economic and population progress due to its strategic location. Now Palompon remained a municipality, and still a home for the treasures of nature.
LASBC 17th Associational Meeting
It has been almost a week that I have been a little silent. It all started last week when I attended the 17th Associational Meeting of Leyte Association of Southern Baptist Churches.
The meeting has a theme: “Steadfastness For A Better Harvest” taken from the key verse Galatians 6:9. Since Ptr. Joe Ytom was not able to come due to health reason, the meeting was still blessed by equally powerful speaker, Ptr. Joe Fernandez.
The meeting’s lectures were about worship leading lead by Cainta Baptist Church worship team and Preaching Lessons taught by yours truly.
About 70-80 people attended the meeting and it was indeed a great blessing to each one of us. God’s message centered about the “Bountiful Harvest” in the Lord. Ptr. Joe talked about harvest season. By quoting the incident where Jesus ask water from a Samaritan woman, Ptr. Joe explained that the Samaritan woman have become the harvest, and immediately became a harvester where she went to her relatives and told them about Jesus Christ.
B.C. and A.D.
“And you has He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein, in times past, you walked according to the course of this world, according to the course of the world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience, among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind—and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”
Ephesians 2:1-3
We should never forget who we were, what we were and how we lived before the Savior came; otherwise, we’re apt to presume on His Grace.
Everyone who claims the Name of Christ should have a B.C. (“Before Christ”) and A.D. (Latin “anno Domini”—“in the year of our Lord”) in their lives. Although modern-day revisionists of history have now changed those to B.C.E (“Before the Common Era”) and C.E. (“Common Era”) in chronicling our past to avoid using Christ’s Name, we should never do so in our testimony of faith.
Truly, everyone who’s been born again has a “in times past” (vv.2, 11) and a “but now” (v.13) in his/her life. And, there should be great cause for alarm if there’s not! Anyone who’s been “quickened (made alive) from his trespasses and sins” through Christ’s redemption should no longer be “walking according to the course of this world. . .acting like one of the devil’s children. . .and living like a rebellious child of disobedience.”
Sermon On Becoming A Good Example
Happened To Be An Example
Text: 1 Corinthians 10:1-11
Introduction
Last time, we have learned about the characters of a Christian leader. We have learned that Christians who were called by God are supposed to become leaders in the future. And as leader, as someone that leads somebody to the Lord, it is very important that we learn how to go beyond our limits.
Today, we will be discussing about things that happened so that it can be an example for us in our time for our obedience to God. In our passage today, we will see how God worked in the lives of Israelites as they disappointed God because of their sins of exploiting the freedom that they have received from God.
Before we go into God’s message, let us discuss first the things that tells us what Israelites received before they were sentenced with their due penalties.
Under One Cloud And All Passed To Red Sea – The Israelites were led by a cloud as they travel from Egypt, across the Red Sea, and then to Sinai. Verse 1 and 2 says that all of them were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea. The Israelites where not baptized or immersed in the Red Sea, but “unto Moses” signifying their unity and solidarity as they passed through the Red Sea.
Ate The Same Spiritual Meat – God gave the Israelites a meat and bread to eat in the desert. We can see in the book of Exodus (Exodus 16:15) that God provided for their basic needs.
Drank The Same Spiritual Water – God allowed them all to drink from the spiritual Rock which was Christ (in accordance to the passage). This passage is also an evidence that Christ pre-existed even before He was born, having a divine nature and a godly attributes. (Exodus 17:6).
Now we see how much God loved the Israelites and took care of them even before they went out from the land of Egypt. However, our passage in verse 5 is also clear in saying that God is not well pleased with many of them which brought them to be overthrown in wilderness.
In verse 6, it says that the Israelites lusted for these things. What I have written below is the direct opposite of what they did. And in each case, they also have received the due penalty for their sins.
