One of my favorite subjects is history. Even when I was in high school, I love to read history books, visit historical sites, and visit museums that focuses on history.
“Boring” as some other people commented listening to their history professor. But I find it very interesting discovering things about what people did in the past and how it came into being in our present time. Historical events play in my mind as I read along the lines of historical books.
It’s amazing because it was only in my seminary life that I have seen a clearer picture of the history of Christianity. For instance, Catholic claims that they are the one true “original christian religion”. Was this really the case? How did it began calling them to be “Roman Catholics”? What are the significant events that happened those times that resulted to schisms and divisions among the Christian church? And many more.
All these with the help of the book “The Story of Christianity” by Justo Gonzales. I am not recommending the book because this was our text book, but because I have read it from cover to cover, having about 800 pages.
Justo Gonzales presented this book skillfully, carefully, and creatively. It just keeps you reading from one page to another. Not to mention all the things that you will learn through this book.
Now, let’s go to the good news. This book is “ON SALE”. I could have grab a personal copy of this book if it was a little cheap while I was in seminary. But it wasn’t. So “as of the moment”, this book is on sale in the cheapest “Christian Bookstore” online.
Seminary Students, don’t miss this one while it is “ON SALE”. If you are a professor, please check this out and perhaps you may also want to grab a copy of this book.
